The Student Unit is comprised of those preprofessional or graduate college students who affiliate with both AAFCS and Texas Affiliate by paying appropriate annual dues. Assistance with membership dues is available through our HUGS program funds. These funds are also available for other designated incentives approved by the AAFCS – Texas Affiliate Board to promote and encourage Student Section membership. For a special HUGS student membership application, contact the Executive Director.

The Chair of the Student Unit is elected at the AAFCS – Texas Affiliate Annual Meeting, and begins a one-year term on the AAFCS – Texas Affiliate Board of Directors following the election. The primary duties of the AAFCS – Texas Affiliate Student Section Chair include the following:
