The Texas Family & Consumer Sciences Journal is a refereed professional publication. It has two issues: Research Issue and State Conference Proceedings Issue. The opinions expressed by authors are theirs and do not necessarily reflect the policies of the AAFCS-TX Affiliate.
The Texas Family & Consumer Sciences Journal is published annually in an electronic format by AAFCS-TX. Subscriptions may be obtained in conjunction with AAFCS/AAFCS-TX membership, dues being $145 annually for active professionals. Nonmember, library, and institution subscription rates are $20. Information concerning subscriptions and mailings should be sent to the VP Academic Affairs.

Call for Manuscripts: Deadline June 30, 2017
The 2016 edition of the Texas Family and Consumer Sciences Journal will be published in fall 2016. The purpose of the journal is to communicate research findings to Family and Consumer Sciences professionals who are researchers or who are interested in research. Implications of the research for these professionals should be emphasized in the manuscripts. Authors should discuss the meaning of the results for practitioners and researchers as well as how the results may be used. A $30.00 publications fee will be required at the time of final revision for each accepted manuscript.
Manuscripts may focus on the profession or one of the area in Family and Consumer Sciences; they may also be interdisciplinary.

Members are encouraged to submit manuscripts for the 2016 Texas Family and Consumer Sciences Journal in any of the following categories:
- Brief Reports
- Reviews of Literature
- Abstracts of Research Published by National Refereed Journals
- Listings of Research in Progress
- Other Formats
General Guidelines: Only current members of AAFCS may submit manuscripts. Second authors eligible for AAFCS membership must also be current members. For interdisciplinary research proposals, the principle investigator must be an AAFCS member. Brief reports should not have been published previously in the Texas Family and Consumer Sciences Journal. However, different proposals (following the correct format for each) must be submitted by the appropriate deadlines for the meeting and for the Journal.
Submit manuscripts via email to Jay Yoo, VP Academic Affairs, Jay_Yoo@baylor.edu by June 30, 2017. Type “TAFCS Journal Submission” in the email subject heading. Attach the following: (1) the cover page, and (2) the manuscript with author’s name removed. JPG or PDF illustrations or graphics may be separate attachments. If submitting more than one manuscript, please send separate emails for each submission.
