  •  AAFCS-Texas Northeast District Meeting

Date:  Friday, September 20, 2019

Time:  8:30 a.m.(networking until 9:00am) to 4:00 p.m. (including tours).

Place: Texas Woman’s University-Denton Campus

            Woodcock Hall(formerly the Human Development Building) Room 004       


Additional Parking Information:

Visitor parking is located off Administration Drive and N. Bell Ave(on the interactive map it is near the Student Union).  Allow time to be “checked in” by the security guard.  The Woodcock Building is south on Bell, 3-4 block.  We will be meeting on the lower floor of the building.  There are stairs and an elevator toward the middle of the first floor.

Lunch Details:

Baked Potato Bar catered by the campus catering company.  Lunch will be served around noon.

Donation Opportunity:

Attendees are invited to bring a donation for the children at Cumberland  Presbyterian Children’s Home.  When asked what they needed, the need is to build their Young Adult library.  The link will take you to Barnes and Noble’s top 100 bestselling YA books, .  They requested new books.  You can either select a book and bring the book to the meeting or there will be a donation location used to purchase gift cards.

3:45-4:00 Transition to the Lubbock Community Garden
4:00 – 5:00 Time at the Community Garden
  • Tour and overview of the garden: Beth Roesler
  • Texas Hunger Initiative – Hunger and Horticulture team overview: Jessica Tullar Caroom
5:00 – 5:15 Travel back to campus
5:15 – 6:30 View film “The Garden” with discussion to follow

*Refreshments will be served during the film.
